Our pump dispensers are made especially with our own hand wash refills in mind. They’re designed to mix the air and soap together to form just the right consistency to get your hands clean and feeling fresh. In theory, they might work with other soap formulations - but we can’t guarantee you’ll get the same gentle, foamy, fluffy lather you get when you choose one of our own refill tablets.

It’s pretty simple really - you take one of our small but mighty hand wash refill tablets and pop it in your hand wash dispenser bottle. There’s a little line on the side of the bottle that tells you where to fill it up with hot water (the tablets dissolve better in heat - boiling water is not required). Once everything is fully dissolved, you use it the way you would any dispenser. The key difference is that, unlike other gel-like soaps, this one mixes air into your liquid soap with every pump. It draws up just the right amount of soap, fluffs it up with air, resulting in a velvety foam that’s perfect for getting your hands clean.

The short and simple answer is no - if you’d like to know more, we can explain why! The little tube at the bottom of your dispenser pump is pretty narrow - especially in comparison to pump bottles that are used for thicker liquids like the hand soaps you might be used to. Combine that with the fact that the pump mixes air into the soap, and it’d get a little gunked up and would more than likely make a mess (or end up getting a bit clogged). Long story short: we recommend only using our refills in your Skipper bottles!

If you notice your Skipper hand wash bottle is looking a little dusty and needs a freshen up, it’s super easy to get it looking brand new again. For starters, you can always just dispense a few pumps of your hand soap and wash the outside of your bottle off if it’s a bit on the dusty side. For anything more ingrained, you can give it a spray down with our universal cleaner and give it a gentle scrub with a microfibre cloth - it’ll look as good as new.
