Refresh Your Bathroom with Skipper’s Toilet Blocks
Make life easier and get a cleaner bathroom in the process by adding Skipper’s innovative toilet blocks to your bathroom cleaning rotation. Made to be kinder to the environment while still delivering a fresh and clean bowl, they’re the affordable alternative. Buy your starter kit once and refill it forever!
Is It Safe to Use Toilet Blocks?
Yes! Toilet blocks remove the risk of spilling liquid cleaners in your bathroom. They’re free from harmful chemicals, live in a humidity-proof tin until you’re ready to use them, and sit in your toilet’s cistern while they’re working.
Why Choose Skipper’s Toilet Blocks?
If you want to leave the harsh chemicals behind and opt for a more gentle but equally effective option, Skipper’s toilet blocks are the perfect solution. They’re easier to use, clean with every flush and are even safe for grey water systems. They’re more affordable and significantly reduce the amount of single-use plastic in your bathroom, too!
Effective Cleaning Power for a Fresh Bathroom
We use a specially formulated blend of powerful ingredients that are gentler on your toilet system and the environment. You’ll find things like anionic and ionic surfactants, which are the part that acts as soap, breaking down dirt for a fresher toilet. We also use sodium bicarbonate for fizz, with cellulose gum to ensure that fizziness lasts for up to three weeks, giving you a cleaner loo for longer!
Easy to Use and Long-Lasting Freshness
Using Skipper toilet blocks is easy. You don’t even need to take the wrapper off, just open up your cistern, pop a block in there and close it up. They’re designed to dissolve at just the right rate, which gives you up to three weeks of toilet freshness with the occasional scrub. We put a little bit of blue colourant in each block, so you know that when the water is running clear, it’s time for a fresh one.
Eco-Friendly Options for a Cleaner Home
Our ingredients list is free from harmful chemicals that can have a negative impact on our environment. You won’t find any bleaches, phosphates, ammonia or phthalates in our range. Get a fresh and clean home without the unnecessary extras with Skipper cleaning kits for the whole home!
Skipper Toilet Blocks vs. Traditional Alternatives
If you’re used to the conventional bottles of toilet cleaners or rim block toilet cleaners, there are a few key differences between them and Skipper cistern toilet blocks. For a start, ours reduce the amount of single-use plastic in your home. When we ship our products, our packaging is also compost-friendly. We also avoid ingredients that are bad for the environment (and your toilet’s pipes!).
Benefits of Toilet Blocks Over Liquid Cleaners
The biggest and best difference about our toilet blocks is that they’ll help clean your toilet for up to three weeks, keeping your bathroom fresher for longer with less effort. They’re more concentrated than liquid toilet cleaners, requiring only the odd scrub to keep everything looking good in the loo.
Effectiveness and Ease of Use
To use Skipper toilet blocks, it’s as simple as popping one of our biodegradable toilet blocks in your cistern opposite the water inlet and closing things up. They work continuously every time you flush and once there’s no more blue, you know it’s time for a fresh one!
Cost-Effective and Sustainable Solutions
Our toilet blocks work out at $2 on average or $1.78 if you buy in bulk. Even if you buy our smaller refill packs, the most you’ll spend a day on your toilet cleaning products is just 9c. They’re affordable, easy to use and keep your toilet looking fresh without the extra chemicals.

Standard FAQs
How do I use toilet blocks?
Our toilet blocks are easy to use for an effortless clean with every flush.
1. Drop the toilet block inside your toilet’s cistern, on the opposite side of the inlet. Keep the wrapper on too, it's biodegradable.
Can't find your cistern? Watch our 20 second tutorial here instead.
2. Your toilet will stay clean with every flush. Use a scrub brush occasionally as needed.
3. After a period up to 3 weeks when your flushes stop flowing blue, pop a new block in and start over.
Note: Approximately 7% of toilets in Australia are not compatible with toilet blocks, where the cistern design causes the blocks to be consumed too quickly. Don't worry, if they don't last for you, we'll refund your first toilet block purchase per our money-back guarantee.
How long do Skipper toilet blocks last?
The toilet block will dissolve in the cistern slowly for around 3 weeks, depending on toilet usage, water temperature and toilet design. Once fully dissolved you can replace it with another block. It is crucial for the lifespan of the toilet block, that is is placed on the opposite side of the water inlet.
Are toilet blocks harmful to the rubber seals in my cistern?
No, they're not. Our toilet blocks are made with considered and eco-conscious ingredients with no strictly bleaches, so there's no nasties that may corrode your fixtures.
Do I remove the wrapper from the toilet blocks?
No, keep the wrappers on your toilet blocks. They are biodegradable and will dissolve in your cistern. The toilet block wrapper is made of PVA (sometimes called PVOH). If you’re interested in learning more about this ingredient read our blog (5 minutes) here.
What ingredients are in your toilet blocks?
Nonionic & anionic surfactants, cellulose gum, sodium bicarbonate, colourant, polyvinyl alcohol, parfum.
Are your toilet blocks septic and greywater safe?
Yes, our toilet blocks are considered septic and grey water safe, including for use with enviro septic systems. In fact, all our products are septic and grey water-safe.
Our ingredients are reviewed internally for known hazards to our environment, waterways, longevity of septic systems (harsher chemicals can wear components) and of course, exposure to humans and pets at home.
Do your toilet blocks contain plastic / PVA?
The biodegradable wrappers on our toilet blocks are made from PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol), a water-soluble synthetic polymer. PVA has been proven through decades of credible research to be completely biodegradable (no microplastics) and safe for humans and the environment. In-fact, it's commonly used across many industries impacting all of us, including vitamin capsules which are consumed by millions of people daily!
Early in 2024 there was recent debate about the use of PVA, caused by misinformation spread by a company who has a commercial interest in discrediting products containing PVA (specifically, laundry sheets and pods).
Read our blog here (5 minutes), to learn why we use PVA in three of our products (laundry sheets, dishwasher tablets, toilet blocks) and why the ingredient is highly regarded in the industry as safe.
