Our Toilet Stool is made from polypropylene waste collected, sorted, cleaned and shredded in Indonesia, then turned into something useful for your home. Designed to raise your feet into a squat-like position while you sit on the loo, easing the strain of bowel movements. It even folds away when you're done. But hey, it can make itself useful elsewhere in the home, too. A little stool for small feet and big ones.
Part of our second upcycled plastics batch, it helps us test a simple idea: when waste becomes something people want, it becomes worth collecting. A practical piece for your home, and another step towards changing the economics of plastic waste.
Why we like it:
- Gives discarded plastic a new purpose, turning waste into something that helps you do your business
- Easier bowel movements, as the "puborectalis" muscle relaxes with elevated knees, helping stools pass more effortlessly. And yes, that's a real word.
- Folds away between visits for easier storage.
- A curved edge to sit neatly around the front of your toilet.
- Each piece is one of a kind, with its own mix of colours and textures.
An important note, Skipper: Colour and texture will vary. Each stool is made from collected plastic waste, so the different shades and flecks are part of the process, and part of its story.
Our upcycled pieces aren’t included in the sale. Every purchase helps fund plastic waste collection, local jobs and the making of something useful from what was thrown away. Learn more about the project here.
